Under the contract signed by Undersecretariat for Defence Industries for the modernization of 170 M60 A1 rise passive tanks,2nd main maintanance Center performs Serial Production. In this scope, modified parts of the tank are 120 mm Weapon System (including the thermal cover), Firing Control System, Power Pack, Modular Hybrid Armour, Fire Extinguisher and Blast Supression System, Electrically Operated Gun and Turret Driving System, Suspension System, Tracks and Final Drives, Ammunition stowage boxes and wire race bearing. The acceptance tests of prototype tank has been successfully performed. The activities of pilot and serial modernization are still ongoing. It is anticipated that the deliveries will be finished by April 2009.
